Cleanings

Fillings
Fillings repair teeth that have been damaged by decay or fracture. They are also used for cosmetic reasons. Most fillings today are made of composite resin (white) and match the natural colour and shape of your own teeth.

Bonding
Bonding is a term used to describe white fillings that are used to improve the cosmetic appearance of teeth. It can be used to change the colour or shape of teeth, and functions and feels like your own teeth.

Crowns
Crowns are used to repair teeth that have been damaged more extensively by decay or fracture. They are also used to protect heavily restored teeth or root canal treated teeth from fracture or splitting. Crowns, often referred to as caps, sit over the entire part of the tooth that lies above the gumline. Crowns are custom made by a laboratory to fit your own mouth. New advances in dental technology have allowed crowns to be metal free while still being strong enough to withstand the forces of chewing.

Bridges
A bridge can be used to replace a single missing tooth or multiple missing teeth. The neighbouring teeth are crowned and used to anchor the bridge permanently in the mouth.

Implants
Implants are also used to replace one or more missing teeth. They are artificial roots that are used to support the replacement teeth. The advantage of an implant is that they do not require changes to the adjacent teeth.

Veneers
Veneers are strong, thin pieces of ceramic or resin material that are bonded to the teeth. Veneers are used to repair chipped, decayed or stained teeth and may help in closing gaps between teeth.

Whitening/Bleaching
The most common way to whiten your teeth involves a dentist supervised at home system. This method involves a custom made mouth guard for the patient along with the bleaching material. You will be given instructions on how to wear the mouth guard and this type of method generally required ten to fourteen days to complete.

Root Canals
Root canals are necessary when a tooth has abscessed, is cracked or starts to ache for a long period of time. It involves removing the infected material inside the tooth. This space is then filled and the tooth is restored with either a crown or a filling.

Night Guards /TMJ appliance therapy
These appliances are used to treat patients with symptoms of TMJ disorder or habits such as grinding or clenching. They are custom made to fit your mouth, protect the teeth and relax the muscles of the jaw.
